Dr. Heather Paulus
Dr. Heather Paulus is a 2015 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. A Toledo area native, she was excited to move back to the area upon graduation to practice alongside Dr. Thomas Cable and expand her knowledge in Vision Therapy and Binocular Vision before he retired.
Dr. Paulus strives to provide the highest quality of eye care to her patients of all ages, wanting to be the kind of doctor that she herself would want to go see. She loves connecting with her patients and helping them reach their full visual potential.
Dr. Paulus resides in Toledo with her husband, Josh, and two young children, Brody and Brooklynn. In her spare time, Dr. Paulus enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and taking their two dogs for walks.
Dr. Elizabeth Bower was born and raised to be a proud Buckeye. She went to the Ohio State University for her undergraduate career and graduated from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2017. While in Optometry school, Elizabeth was the President of her class and was very involved with the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists group where she went on 2 mission trips to rural Jamaica and several Remote Area Medical Mission trips within the United States.
Dr. Bower enjoys caring for patients of all ages, but especially Pediatrics and focusing on how the eyes work together (which is called Binocular Vision) through Vision Therapy. She also enjoys fitting Contact Lenses and keeping her patients happy and comfortable in contact lenses for as long as they desire.
Dr. Bower was happy to move back to Northwest Ohio after graduation and currently resides with her husband near rural Malinta with their new Baby Boy, Novak. They enjoy spending time with their 2 dogs, Archie and Macula, going boating and being with their friends and family. She is also very active with her Church.
Dr. Bower is an InfantSEE provider, meaning that she gives free comprehensive eye and vision examinations to Infants between the ages of 6 and 12 months, and she actively goes into classrooms in the area to teach kids about their eyes through a program called RealEyes. Sue is our office manager and resident social butterfly. She has been working with us for over 16 years! Her favorite part of her job is working with all of the staff; she says it keeps her young! Sue has two daughters, Lynn, one of our vision therapists at Maumee Center for Eyecare, and Anne. She has a granddaughter named Kate whom she loves to spoil. In her free time, Sue enjoys gardening and going out to lunch with her friends.
Amy is our rockstar receptionist who keeps us all running smoothly! She has been working at Maumee Center for Eyecare since 2017. Amy’s role is to check in and check out our patients, schedule appointments, and handle billing. Her favorite part of the job is working with the staff and patients who all feel like family. She has been with her husband for 19 years and together they have a 15 year old daughter who has a scholarship to Ohio State University. Her hobbies include spending time with her family, riding motorcycles with her husband, and reading.
Erin is our head opthamalic technician; she has over 10 years of optical experience and has been with Maumee Center for Eyecare since 2010. Her favorite part of the job is getting to know our patients and their families as they return each year. She especially loves when patients bring babies for her to hold! Erin has a husband, Marcus, of nine years and together they have three boys; Braydyn (13), Mason (8), and Max (3). Erin loves watching her boys play sports, shopping, drinking coffee, and vacationing to Florida!
Ally is our newest opthamalic technician who joined our team in the fall of 2018. Ally’s primary role is to perform the preliminary testing before our patients see the doctor. Her favorite part of her job is getting to know the patients and making sure their eyes are healthy. She lives in Toledo with her husband, Robert, and their daughter, Penelope. Ally loves to do fun things around the city like visiting the Toledo Zoo and cheering on the Walleye and Mud Hens, but she’s happiest relaxing at home with a glass of wine.
Lynn is one of our resident Vision Therapists; she has over 23 years of experience! Her favorite part of her job is working with the children, seeing their progress, and watching their self-esteem build! She loves making positive changes in the patients’ lives through the VT program. Lynn has a husband, Greg, who she has been married to for 15 years; their anniversary is Valentine’s Day! Lynn loves going to sporting events with her husband, swimming, and watching her niece play volleyball, basketball, and softball!
Pam is also one of our Vision Therapist at Maumee Center for Eyecare; she has been a vision therapist for over 18 years! Her favorite part of her day is helping others, seeing her patients succeed, and working with our wonderful staff. Pam’s favorite hobbies are reading, attending sporting events, and going to church to spend time with Jesus.
Wendi is an optician at Maumee Center for Eyecare; she has over 25 years of optical experience and she joined our team in 2018! Her favorite part of her job is helping people look their best AND see their best! Wendi has a husband of 35 years, two daughters, and one dog. Wendi loves to travel, read, and create stained glass art.
Rachel is an optician with over nine years of experience and has been a member of our team since 2014. Her favorite part of her job is giving people the gift of sight through glasses and helping them select the perfect frame! Rachel has been married to her husband, DJ, for nine years. They have a daughter, Lillian who is six years old and MANY more fur-children! Rachel loves taking care of their mini-farm, hunting and fishing with her family, and cheering on OSU football!
Miranda is an optician, though she is happy to help wherever she is needed; she has been working with us since 2018. Her favorite part of her job is helping patients and customers choose frames that fit their personality. Miranda loves being an aunt to her niece and nephew. Her hobbies include crafting, loving on animals, eating desserts, and going on adventures!
Kendyll has been a technician at Maumee Center for Eyecare since 2018. Her favorite part of her job is getting to meet new patients and hear their stories and working with our staff that feels like family! Kendyll is getting married in May of 2019 to her fiancé, Joe. She and Joe live in their home (or zoo) with two dogs and three cats! Her hobbies include traveling, fashion, and game nights with friends and family.
